The Colorado American and Chinese Professional Association (CAACPA) plans to form our own Fort Collins dragon boat team to participate in the Dragon Boat Festival race held on August 29–30 at Sloan’s Lake in Denver!

This will be the first appearance of the Fort Collins Chinese community at Denver’s traditional dragon boat celebration. Beginners are welcome, and it’s a fun event for families to enjoy together while cheering for our community!

Each participant must complete one form. For example, if both a father and daughter are participating, please submit the form twice.

Team Composition & Requirements

Team Structure:
18 paddlers + 1 drummer + 1 flag catcher (a few alternates will also be needed)

Paddler Age Requirement:
12 years old and above, with at least 8 female paddlers.

We welcome middle school and high school students who meet the age requirement, parents, and all interested adults in the community!

Our goal is to form at least one team. If registration numbers are high, we may form two teams.

Training Schedule

Two on-water training sessions will be held before the competition.

Time: July–August (during summer break), TBD
Location: Sloan’s Lake, Denver

Selected team members must attend the training sessions and follow the coach’s guidance.
